Worked conversion example

Follow one statement from PDF to spreadsheet

Download the source PDF and the files produced by an actual extraction run. All six transactions are fictional. You can compare every date, reference, amount and balance with the original.

Free downloads. No account required. The statement is an original ExtractoCSV demonstration document with invented account details.

What this run produced

The original digital PDF was processed with gemini-2.5-flash through ExtractoCSV’s extraction service. Its returned rows were passed to the same CSV and XLSX generators used for conversions here. The downloadable transaction outputs have not been manually corrected.

Rows checked

Opening balance
GBP 1,000.00
Closing balance
GBP 1,552.70

Credits GBP 1,262.85 − debits GBP 710.15 = net GBP 552.70. Added to the opening balance, this gives GBP 1,552.70.

Compare the converted rows

Amounts are GBP. Dates use YYYY-MM-DD. CSV uses commas, decimal points and blank cells for zero amounts. Keep the statement open alongside these rows.

What this example tells you

In this single run, all six rows matched the fictional source, including descriptions and references. This was a simple, one-page digital PDF. It was not a scan, password-protected file, bank-issued document or customer statement. It does not measure accuracy across banks or guarantee the same result on a later run.

For your own statement, check missing or duplicate rows, debit and credit direction, dates and balances before importing. A balancing total alone can hide offsetting errors. Converted files may need column mapping for your accounting software.
